Why we should never get angry (1)

At the base of anger, there are two very moralistic emotions.

  1. That I am right, and
  2. You didn’t meet my standards

That is why getting angry is a very selfish and self-centered action.

There’s a standard that I set for myself whether through personality or upbringing.  It’s a case where someone didn’t meet that standard and I was wasn’t happy about it.

In most case, you being angry is more about you. Think of the last time you got angry. Did you have a standard that someone else had to meet?

You asked, “why do parents get angry at their children?”

That’s a good question.

The answer is because “I am right and you are wrong”.  LOL

On a more serious note, my personal view on this is that, in any way possible, parents should not get angry at their children, as a result making their children get angry.  In some ways, it is an impatient, lazy, and irresponsible way of parenting.

Having said that, parents get angry because they want the best for their children.
If you experienced that one door opens up to a cliff and the other to a beautiful garden, wouldn’t you get angry if your loved one tries to open the wrong door?
That’s what parents have to go through every day.

I love you so much. It is on me to be patient and not get angry.
